Someone on the other thread "What piece of gear do you most regret selling" suggested this... it might be good for a laugh?
1) List the piece of gear currently in your collection that you most regret buying, and why! 2) List the worst piece of gear ever in your collection that you have managed to unload, and why!
1) An Alesis Quadraverb. I love Alesis gear, but I bought this one (very) used and it's a pig. The display has never worked properly, the power supply burned out, the power cable broke. I live in hope I can get it going but it's probably a fools errand <sigh>
2) A 16 channel frankenstein mixing board I built in my younger days. I bought it as a kit with good intentions, but managed to butcher it . I took it around to the guy who was going to buy it and when he was testing it his neighbours called the cops. At which point I took his money, ducked out of sight and left him with it... |

Lets see, I guess I most regret buying my first Telecaster last year, because now I have 4, but remembered how 4 is considered unlucky in Japan, so have been trying to figure out a way to get #5 I am addicted and or possessed by Telecasters...
I don't really think I have had anything that was in need of unloading though... |

i think it would have to be my old Morley Wah...i hated it as soon as i got it...i even tried to give it away to my friend and he gave it back...i think that should be testament enough...
and in truth i regret buy my two newest guitars cause now i want one of those 65 RI Mustangs...
only thing i've sold was one of those Behringer EQ pedals similar to the GE-7...sold because i had just acquired my amazing EQ-20...so what was the point...besides my buddy blindly offered me more than i paid for it so what was i to do?...haha... |

heh. i mentioned the idea of this topic in the other thread but didn't start it.
i have two levels of bad. 1) bad as in that i was a guitar newb and didn't know any better. 2) bad as in i wasn't sure what i was getting into bad.
1a. any digitech/dod guitar/effects processors (3). 1b. any speaker cabinets made by crate or carvin (4). 1c. lace sensor pickups (9). 1d. hughes & kettner attax preamp.
2a. gibson sg-z. 2b. '76 fender bassman 10.

A/..... Line 6 Pod xt pro....just when i get to like something on it and try it live i start hating it all over again.... ok for recording though....
B/....The seymour duncan hotrail and hot tele stack i have in my squier tele...i've given up on overwound pickups as they are far too midrangy and muddy sounding.....gonna go with some original fenders....
C/....The eric clapton active midboost i have in my squier strat...good for some things but caused me a lot of heartache with impedence issues with some of my boss pedals, seriously thinking of ripping it out very soon, starting to sound the same as B to me... (see above)
D/.... A digitech GSP 21 i had one time..it was one of the first processors that came out and looked great in the shop, the best thing that happened to me was it getting stolen after a gig one night, it stopped me messing and pressing buttons between songs and start concentrating on my playing again(these things can be very distracting.. ) also led to me going back to using pedals and especially boss... .. to think i passed on the chance of a second musicman combo to buy this piece of shit....... .....no more processors....... .....
thats all i can think of at the moment........

I have of course, like most of you made many, many mistakes That would be a long list. Mostly I sell or trade the mistakes as soon as possible.
1/ Digitech Eric Clapton Crossroads pedal; Firstly this is a really bad idea, secondly, if you use it in an amp it sounds awful on most settings. For recording its OK, but not more. I traded a used BD-2 for this pedal, and thought I did a good affair.
2/ Line 6 Variax 500 guitar. Had it for about two years, but it sounded so lifeless and uninspiring that it just had to go, traded it for a Worn & Faded Gibson SG, and that was the best thing I could do. For recording the Line 6 was rather good though.

Zoom 505 effects processor. POS I gave me a dislike of Multi effects in general. Too much tapping in codes and patches and shit. The only good thing is I sold it for what I paid for it. |

The blue pod (Behringer V-amp). It was cheap and that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. When I sold a telecaster copy a few years ago I tossed in the v-amp, not so much to sweeten the deal but rather to get rid of it. |

A Danelectro 'Rocky Road' Spinning speaker simulator. Now I know why they go for under 10 on Ebay!
A horrible unusably hissy cheap bit of plastic, not worth the postage! |

Maybe the Aw-2 I am about to have delivered in 3 hours?
A Les Paul copy called a "Northern". It was cool to get a really Canadian guitar (had maple leaf fret markers) but it was a POS...

For some odd reason, the full-sized Danelectro pedals look like a Fat Bottom Girl.. I never saw that before. Maybe its the brown colour. |

This thing is tiny though, smaller than a Boss compact pedal.
Edit: I found a pic of someones pedals, you can see the size - it's on the left, below the DC-3. http://www.armadilloland.plus.com/band-website/htdocs/pictures/big%20pedalboard.jpg |
