just received a NOS PW-2; haven't had a chance to use it yet, but what struck me so far was its color. mine appears to be a light metallic orange, much closer to the DS-1 than the pastel yellow of a SD-1. however, the bossarea.com page has a yellow PW-2 and a yellow pedal icon. are there two different colors of the PW-2, or does one color fade over time to the other, or ...? (FYI, of the two PW-2 that are on eBay right now, one appears to be orange and the other yellow.)

Mine is closer to orange too.

The picture on the site is made by Boss. When I added the picture I didn't have a PW-2 so I assumed it would be more yellowish. Hence the yellow icon.

There is an advertisement picture of the BF-2 that shows it as pink. http://www.bossarea.com/images/BF-2Pink.gif
In the boss book thay say that this was the original colour and there may or may not be some that is actually pink.

Likely the colour of the PW-2 could have changed in the last minute before shipping too.

thanks for the replies! incidentally, the PW-2 has a very high-gain and powerful sound, not at all tinny like some other MIT pedals, and not bad at all. I tried it with both bass and a guitar, but didn't seem to handle a bass as well; maybe an eq or a limiter/compressor should be used in front of the PW-2 to improve tracking.

it's too bad that the PW-2's manual (which includes suggestions for "hysteric grange" and "wild rhythm" settings) contributes to the DOD-esque cheesiness of its "fat" and "muscle" knobs. that and its vague name probably contributed more to its demise than its actual sound....

Mine is also a little orange, and for heavy gain its a good pedal.

I think the PW-2 and XT-2 was somewhat experimental in the knob labeling department. I agree that this may have led to their short lifespan more than their sounds.
Just hope Boss learned from the mistake
