HI, i play bass and im looking for a limiter
i've owned a cs3, its good but degrades the tone...
im trying to decide between a LM-2 MIJapan! or a LM-2B MITaiwan :S?
i've heard that that the lm2b is just a little modified lm2
i suppose the lm2 mij could be better, but it has that tone knob which makes me doubt about it. if it can change the tone this could have a downside i think (the lm2b doesnt have that knob).
well thanks for any help or comments
I COULD BE WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG (PIL)

My Bass playing friend tried all the Boss limiters, he didn't find one that he likes, but out of all of them the LM-2 sounded best to my ears, followed by the LMB-2. If you don't want to use the enhancer supplied on the LMB-2 and LMB-3, go for the LM-2.

LM2B is a great pedal for bass.

I used to use a CS-3 for bass compression and as a DI for 4-track recording, and I agree with iancurtis -- the CS-3 is just not meant for bass guitar.

currently I use the LMB-3, and although it's not very exciting, I have no complaints. I've never tried out the LM-2 or LM-2B, but I would expect the LMB-3 to be more versatile than the LM-2B, simply because the LMB-3 allows you to dial in the amount of compression (with the 'ratio' knob).

I don't play much bass but when I do I usually use my LM-2B.
I got an LM-2 as well but I liked the LM-2B more.

I just figure that if you want more felxability the LM-2 & EH-2 combo is the way to go. more control over the sound.

Or you could go with a DBX rackmount compressor/limiter.

Its not the enhance knob which makes doubt, but the TONE knob of the lm2. And yes the ratio knob of the lmb-3 seems convenient but how much? i can get a lmb-3 cheap but a lm-2b cheaper, so im in doubt
what about noise? are both noiseless ? thanks for the replies

I have used an LMB-3 for a while, but decided to break them up and got an EH-2 and an LM-2. I'm not really sure why they paired them together. It seems like the limiter should go in the front of the chain and the enhancer to go in the back. Is the enhancers function not to replenish the sound after the effects?
