Hi Guys I thought I might ask you what music related DVD's you might be watching, or have watched recently.
Or perhaps, what are some of your recommendations for other members.
I recently bought a few Music related DVD's at my local S/hand store. They were having a 50% off sale, & I managed to get the following (4) Four DVD's for $18au.
Jon Lord with Pictures Documentary. (ex Deep Purple Keyboard player). The Police Every Breath You Take - The DVD. Spinal Tap the Movie - Special edition release. Been chasing this one for ages. Uli Jon Roth The Electric Sun Years Volume I-II Historical Performances.
I saw the Jon Lord DVD, on an ABC Documentary, & it was only $3au I like the old Police video clips, some are corny, but there are a few that I've not seen before. And Spinal Tap - Well what can you say about Spinal tap??
All the DVD's are in great condition & some look un-played.

Last thing I watched was Dixie Dregs Live at Montreaux '78. Stunning band, with a young and incredible Steve Morse... Got the Imagine documentary but haven't seen it yet... |

I just scored a copy of "Down on the Corner", basically a collection of Creedence Clearwater Revival videos, both live and studio.
And something other very cool, is the DVD "Billy Sheehan, bass hero". With a collection of studio and live clips from both his solo albums and commentary by Billy himself. |

Its basically a documentary that covers the rise and demise of the MC5 with lots of live footage, interviews, and photos from back in the day, plus recent interviews with Wayne Kramer, Dennis Thompson, Michael Davis, and John Sinclair. This film should have been released a few years ago, and has even won some awards at various film festivals. However, a lawsuit by Wayne Kramer, of all people, has had the release of this film held up. You can however find DVD Advance copies of the film that were sent around after the film festivals and before the lawsuit, or bootlegs of this DVD as well. Well worth looking into for any MC5 fan, or anyone who wants to find out more about one of the greatest, yet oftentimes underrated and overlooked, bands in rock's existence. |

"Pompeii" is the best dvd by Pink F I ever seen, their best period.
Also just saw Neil Young & Crazy Horse Live in Japan 2001. This is some serious rock, even better then the Live Rust dvd (an old time favourite). Neil is such a fantastic guitarist, sore notes yes, but the passion, the feeling... There is a great version of Like a hurricane, the ending of that number is far longer than the song itself, howling feedback, my jaw dropped right to the floor.... The man is over 60 and rocks better than old Keith (this is not to degrade the Human Riff in any way), I wish I have that passion when reaching that age.... |
