Hi~ I own an OC-2 (my second) and always assumed octave pedals created octave down sounds. Lately I've been think I would really like octave up and now realize that's how it all started. So...if this is what I am looking for, what would you recommend? Thanks! |

Oooh.. oooh.. What if we ran 2 OCs together with a bass guitar!? Maybe we could get the frequency of the Earth's oscillation in space. I'll be we could feel it.. but not hear it heh |

| Theres also the Foxx Tone Machine. And the Danelectro French Toast is a surprisingly good sounding octave fuzz, and very affordable. |

supposedly, the Electro-Harmonix POG can nail the sound of a 12-string (or 18-string!) guitar from a normal 6-string, for single notes and for chords. I haven't tried the POG (it's very expensive!) or the E-H micro-POG, though. check http://www.ehx.com/ for more info.
I can say that the Boss PS-2's 'octave up' function sounds nothing like a 12-string guitar (for chords), though it can create a sort of chime-y organ sound. |

yup the PS-5 does one full octave up and even 2 full octaves up. 1 sounds pretty crazy and 2 is insane. 2 full octaves up sounds like some kind of japanese noise. the only time i use 2 up is when im using the T-arm setting a la Tom Morello stlye. |

| What's the major difference between the knob and the slider versions of the POG? |

| I've been all Boss but I'd certainly like to try ALL of the EH offerings. Dist, Chorus, HOGs, POGs, their delay looks a bit over-capable but most I hear sound good. At least the company is still around & have unique gear. |

| Billy Corgan uses Electro Harm. That's why I'm interested. |

A quick mention for the ME-50, which will let you add +1 up or -1 down octaves via the Harmoniser function, whilst also allowing you to use a whammy style octave up or down foot pedal. Yes, it's digital and a bit glitchy, but then octave pedals usually are...all part of the fun!
A really great octave pedal, if you ever see it, is the Pearl Octaver. It does one and two octaves down, as well as one up - and both the octaves and direct sound have individual level controls. A cracking pedal. It's a shame mine died, all the solder connections went bad at once, and it's one hell of a complicated pedal...

Hi Caliban You can send this pedal to me, if you're going to throw it out.
