i just bought a CS-3 and an SD-1 to add to my existing setup (shown below

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nady Wireless >
PSM-5 SEND >
NS-2 >
TU-2 >
MT-2 >
HM-2 >
DS-1 >
GE-7 >
CH-1 >
DD-7 >
GE-7 >
DD-7 >
PSM-5 RETURN >
PSM-5 AMP >
DS-1 (SECOND ONE)>
ROCKTEK FLANGER >
RECORDING INTERFACE

i added the CS-3 and the SD-1 inbetween the TU-2 and the Dist's in that order

i was getting major feedback w/ the SD-1 on along with my other pedals and think i figurred it was my volumes on my dist's

not sure though...

where in my chain would be a good placefor the CS-3 and DS-1

do i have them where they need to be?

and all i have to do is do some tweaking?

I would try putting the SD-1 as your first distortion, then the CS-3 right after the first EQ-7

+1 on this....no disrespect to sray10 but i can't see the logic in compressing a signal that has been shaped by a graphic EQ..to me putting the compressor in the chain in this position will cancel out the EQ's setting.......from what i understand of how compressors work they pull in the peaks and troughs of a signal wave and compress them into a straighter signal wave to increase sustain and clarity so all the notes can be heard equally...i use my CS-3 with the sustain level set low(below halway on the knob) with the level boosted to compensate, attack control set full and tone slightly over halfway.......
