I've known some users to throw their QV away or seek an expensive fix once they encounter this problem. I'm not sure which specific glitches are being mentioned in this thread, but there's a ready fix for the one I'm referencing (even though the info is hard to find in the manual or even anywhere else) and all it entails is a simple system reset:

1. Press the Store button
2. Press the Up Page button This will give you the page to recall a single preset to any location
3. Press the Up Page button again and you will get the "Recall all 90 Alesis programs" page
4. Hit Store again to execute the command.

The QV's original display, patch and FX data are all restored to factory settings.

Hey TMon welcome to the board..
That's not the issue that I'm having but, it's something to keep in mind should this symptom occure Thanks!! any info is great info

Another tip: Try to keep the Quadraverb's operating temperature under 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Its display and other components are somewhat sensitive to heat. Simple exposure to direct or indirect sunlight will often freak this baby out. It needs to be kept away from warm/hot things and places to perform optimally.

Hi TKO Ken and all

There is a quadraverb in the small ad's here in ireland for 80 euro,i'm in the process of building a new rig and i need a decent reverb unit, there is also a lexicon MPX 200 for 140 euro but i've heard the is an issue with a hum from these units..... did you manage to fix the quadraverb and how is it working now...? i've heard the reverb out of the alesis is pretty decent..this would be for mainly live work not for a studio except for maybe the odd time with my 8 track for some demos....

sorry if it's a bit off topic.....

G'day Franzoni! I have a few pieces of Alesis gear - a Quadraverb GT, a Quadraverb, and a Microverb - all because I just really like the sound quality. At the time they made these units Alesis had a reputation for the best algorithms for reverb, and it can still hold it's head up.

My only comment would be that 80 Euro seems a bit steep... I'd pay no more than about $70-$80 here.

Hey guys, I finally managed to start working on the Quad. Acording to the troubleshooting guide they have had issues with the rom caps and as they put it, " they have been proven to be unreliable"
I pulled all twelve of the .1uF caps out and I only screwed one of the via's. The solder sucker is on the blink so I was forced to use solder wick and over heated one of them, "jumper time" I guess I was rushing, I should know better! I'll be replacing those caps with 104 50 volters. If that doesn't cure it the next step, acording to the guide is to replace certin diodes which also have been proven to be.......well you know.
I'll keep ya up to date on my progresses.
Later,
Ken

Hi TKO Ken

Nice Pic of your Quadraverb PCB.

BTW, I tried to reply to the PM you sent me.
Seems you might have a problem with the address.
All I got was a NDR Non Deliverable Return.

Dr. Bob,

The email in my profile seems to be correct. Try it again and if doesn't work, go to my hame page link and use the "contact us for bookings link" about half way down the first page. That should work without any issues.
