There is a beat-up LMB-3 in a local store and they sell it for almost nothing (30 euros), so I was wondering if this pedal was good or not... I'm very serious about my bass sound and I don't relie easily on comp-EQ-limiters in pedal format...
I always use it for bass playing. I prefer it to the LM-2 or LM-2B as it's sound tend to be clearer and not as muddy as the others. I haven't done any side by side comparisons so it could be just imagination on my part.
hey guys, i know were talkin bout the LMB but i was just wonderin something bout the LM-2. it's got a tone control. how does that work. does it work like a tone control on guitar or is it more a contour knob? could u use the LM-2 as a kind of EQ. getting a different tone for diff parts of a song.
I use the LM-2B all the time when recording bass. When recording I run the bass into the LM-2B and then into my MOTU 828mkii. It gives the bass a very punchy, clear sound. No muddiness at all. Cuts through the mix extremely well. It lets you record a very hot signal without getting any digital clipping. Great pedal, at least for recording that is.
The LM-2 was originally designed for guitar but became popular with bass players. Boss eventually released the LM-2B because of the LM-2's popularity with bass players. I never tried the LM-2 with my bass so I cannot compare it to the LM-2B. I do not have the LMB-3. I am very happy with the sound I get from the LM-2B so I never bothered with the others. I have an LM-2, often use it with guitar, and like it very much as well. I highly recommend both the LM-2B and LM-2.
