I'm not sure about the RV-5, but neither my RV-2 nor my RRV-10 (1/2 rack micro series) have 'spring' reverb settings. their 'room' and 'hall' settings are impossible to duplicate with my amp's spring reverb tank, and these Boss reverb settings sound much more ambient without sounding all 'springy' (not that there's anything wrong with Dick Dale-esque springy/sproing-y reverb -- it's just a different flavor of reverb).
so to answer your question, yes, I think a Boss RV-x is worth your $. if possible, try one out at yr local music store.... |
