Hi Guys,
I recently bought a VF-1 on evilBay (haven't received it yet) and I was just wondering if anyone else uses or has used one? I couldn't find much info anywhere about it and the Bossarea search doesn't find any threads dedicated to it.
I notice that a lot of you guys seem to use the GT/ME multi floor units (I have never used these myself) and I was wondering why no-one seems to use the VF-1? Is it terrible? Have I bought a dud piece of gear?

I can't recall any threads about the VF-1 so there probably aren't many using it. Haven't heard anyone say it's bad either so maybe people just don't want rack gear these days? |

Thanks Bossarea, I guess that makes sense. Floor gear is probably a little more convenient if you don't have rack gear to start off with.
To be honest I really only bought it because it's a neat way to fill up the extra space in my rack with something else to play with that *might* be useful (plus it's red - I like red stuff).
I shall endevour to post a review after I try it out. |

I traded my Vox Bulldog Overdrive for a VF-1 today, from a friend and we both have one week of regret if were not happy with the trade.

Looks like a cool little box... ..i know the earlier SE-70 is popular with some pro's and experimental artists like the Prodigy...Scott Henderson uses a SE-70 in the loop of his Suhr amp for all his delay/reverb needs...... enjoy the VF-1 some reviews in the coming weeks please... |

It comes Franzoni, I get it tomorrow Multi effects are great "toys", often too complicated to use live, but as experimental toys I like them. |

I now have had VF-1 for two days and opinion is ready to publish. I like it very much, its a really fun toy to play with, sound quality is great. It took me about an hour to get grip of the whole thing, that hour was spent with the manual. VF-1 is very easy to use and you can deeply edit every effect.
The modelled amps sound convincing enough for recording or using alone. The effects sound just as good as expected, there are lots packed in this box. Roland Space Echo, SP-1, TW-1, DC-2 etc etc. Reverbs are really great, many variables to tweak.
This is a very funny toy to get inspired from, I feel like a mad physician (as in the movies) experimenting with the unit. Great quality all over. Easy to use. I wouldnt use it live, I have stompboxes for that, but with a midi controller I would certainly.
I dont know what VF-1 cost used, I traded a Vox Cooltron for it, but if you find one for a reasonable price get it.

VF-1 is great Franzoni, but to use it live youll need a midi-board I supppose, but its very funny to sit at home and play with.

Howdy Goran...i'm pretty much sorted for my live rig,if i got one it would be for the home studio or like i said in my OP for travelling or maybe rehearsing with a guitar and my trusty OD-2.. ..this would fit in the pouch in the strats gigbag... i'm liking the look of the SE-70..seems to be a really action packed little multi effects even for it's age..something compact like the tech 21 midimouse for switching would be ideal for this.... |
