I've noticed my SD-1 Eternity mod picks up a lot of interference. When I first put it into service, I started getting oscillations and feedback, so I really had to clean up the lead dress on my pedalboard. Today, I was trying to play Driven to Tears, but my SD-1 and amp kept telling me to praise Jesus. (If was definitely RF interference, not divine intervention, nor schizophrenia).
One look at the mods tells why - in the pursuit of gain and clarity, the input resitor is jumpered out and capacitance is generally lowered in the front end. Maybe too much?
Anybody have some suggestions for cleaning up the hash without taking too much away from the sound of the pedal (which is brilliant)?
Hmmm... I've done two of these now with no problems (at all). Maybe it's because I have also done a relay based true bypass that has replaced all the FET switching.
Well, the bleesed RF only comes in when the pedal is on (not bypassed). Admittedly, I have the gain and volume on the pedal way up - about 3 o'clock on each.
