| Don't mess with the MN3007 or the MN3101 - those are the bucket brigade delay chips. The other opamp is involved in the rate and depth controls. No need to touch that one, either. The guitar audio goes through the one that has been changed in the picture above. That's the one people change out to make it more "high fi", etc. |

That Burr Brown 2134 chip is also part of the Monte Allums mod and quite frankly I thought it sounded like crap. It changed the sound of the pedal too much for my ears, so I put the stock chip back in and liked it much better.
You may like it or not, your choice off course. |

Yeah, that's my experience too. I haven't left one of the BB chips in any pedal I've either modded or made. Just seems to suck the life out of it with the HiFi transparency.
YMMV of course |

| I wouldn't mind a mod that makes the CE-2 rate go faster, but I haven't messed it one yet. I usually "un-mod" pedals that I get that have been modded. |

I thought it sounded way too hifi, it was quite disapponting to my ears. Which to some degree is a good thing, I then realized I like the old analog, non-hifi sounding pedal better
I don't mean to say that the BB 2134 is bad, on the contrary, I put it in another pedal and I love it there, I just don't like it in the chorus, it transformed the pedal too much into something I didn't like.
When MA claims that it turns a "great sounding analog chorus 10X better!" in my opinion that's just misleading advertisement. |
