I purchased a used DD-6 today, while fooling around i felt like something wasnt right.

turns out that i always get the same delay time when the pedal is set

80ms-2600. unless i move the delay time knob.

whats going on?

it isnt holding either, i read the instructions on the boss manual and it doesnt do it, it just goes into tempo mode.

its not working in reverse correctly either

any ideas what might be going on?

G'day ELG and welcome!

This sort of thing can happen if you are using the wrong adapter.

Are you using a Boss PSA adapter? (not an "equivalent", but an actual PSA)

Does it work on a known good battery?

Thanks for the welcome!

I run the pedal on battery power, I don't have an adapter accesible to me.
I opened it to see I'd there was anything obvious: burnt parts, loose wires, but everything looked ok on the surface.

Any ideas?

Hmmm... I've only ever seen this type of thing happen when the voltage is wrong. Never actually seen a dead DD-5/6/7. Not even sure where to go with this.

I tried to run the pedal on a 9V adapter.

not BOSS, sadly.

nonetheless- the pedal wouldn't turn on. it did nothing.

only runs on battery power and has limited function while doing so.
