Responded to a local ad for a dead Tokai Chorus pedal. The dued was asking best offer, then later changed it to a $5 gift certificate at Tim my's (we canadians are a strange lot,eh?) Took him up on the offer. Later when I got home with it, it worked for me. Turns out it was the ACA/PSA thing, and wasn't working for him. The thing is a clone of the CE-3, complete with the 3207/3101 op amps. Pretty solid, silver model, retro 80's STOP lettering, and the weird thing is the B output is on top next to the knobs. It sounds like a dark CE-2 with out the volume boost. Some of there other effects like overdrive, delay, flanger are copies of Boss pedal to, from the limited resources about Tokai online. Theres a Tokai Distortion down the street, think I'll save my pennies for something better along the way tho... |

Ah, Tokai pedals... I had a few of those back in the day. Nice, typically Japanese build quality and good sound quality, equivalent to the Pearl range but a little more basic in function. If you open up that chorus you'll probably find a bunch of JRC4558 chips (all the Japanese pedals of that era use them) too...

Hi Christo & guys
Thanks for the internal pics. I'll take a closer look at the PCB a bit later.
