| We all know that some pedals have become classics while others have just retained a collectability but what pedals, from say 2000 onwards, do you think will be future classics? the ones that our kids will be after and selling their wives to afford! |

There aint that many Boss pedals released since the year 2000, but possibly AW-3 will be collectable as I suppose it dont sell that much. RC-2 too as it in many ways is a very special pedal and there will be RC-3 etc rather fast as this sort of effect dont "last" too long because of the fast development of digital stuff. |

i would say maybe the MD-2. i dont think its widely aprreciated. theres never any hype about these and they go dirt cheap on ebay. but if this baby is used in moderation, it sounds damn sweet.
i used to use a SD-1---> BD-2 for leads now i use SD-1---> MD-2 for leads. it sounds wonderful. its all in the settings.
but i think a lot of collection purposes now will depend on the length of production dates. |

As we all know, today's Boss pedals are digital, so I don't think that they will be very collectible in the future, not BECAUSE they are digital, but because digital stuff can be duplicated endlessly... My opinion is : how can a processor, which can be found in a pedal, but can also be put in a multi-effect, in an amp or even in a guitar or a plug'in can be considered unique and desirable...
I'm not telling you that the digital world is automaticaly ugly, as lot of that stuff can sound terrific... but that personality, rarity and identity are the hidden words behind collectability...
So I think that the collectibles of the future are now things like the Moogerfoogers, the Maxon series, and all the brands that make real analog stuff..
but that's just a point of view.. |

| You're probably right.. but I don't think it's the "plugin" that you will find, cause in that case all people had bought gt8.. It's just cool.. I don't think Boss said in 77 that "In 30 years people will buy this spectrum for 500$" We can't know what stuffs that will get collectable in the future.. |

| ^^ i'm sure they guessed back then it would become somewhat collectable tho. it's a one off type of effect (like the SG-1 or VB-2) |

| No I don't really do.. Blackmore said "I can't believe my eyes when I see people spend tens of thousand dollars for an old guitar when the new ones is better" My point is that you can never know when something is going to be collectable.. About 10, maybe 15 years ago when the transamp came a lot of people sell of their old Fender twin reverb and Vox ac30 for a really cheap price but now the old one are very very very expensive. Is it better? I don't know, it's 'bout taste.. But is it collectable?? Yes! |
