Would any other Boss using bass players out there like to see the Defretter, that is in so many Boss multi-effect units appear in a compact pedal form? If there are then perhaps Boss could put it into production.
Welcome to the forum Delfender, I always like to see new effects in compact form instead of just new versions of the old ones. The defretter would be a very cool new effect. It's been avalable on the multieffects at least since the ME-8B so it's about time they made something more out of it.
Defretter. It makes a fretted bass sound like a fretless. It might work on a guitar to some degree but I'm not sure. It would be a great pedal to have in the rack.
The Defretter isn't in the ME-50 but is in the ME-50B. So I guess it really is meant for bassists only. I know that fretless guitar isn't a new thing but it hasn't really taken off but a compact pedal might just catch the intrest of a few six stringers.
welcome to the forum..... the only guys i ever saw using fretless guitars were pat metheny and your man bumblefoot(i think he is axl roses latest guitar player.).nice if you could get that effect in a pedal sounds like a lot of fun... i always was and still am a big fan of jaco's playing with weather report...
I tried a fretless guitar a couple of years ago. The owner had pulled the frets of a Fernandes with a built in sustainer. It was very fun but quite impossible to play.
I know Dweezil Zappa used a fretless guitar on the song Rubberband from the Automatic album. The sleeve notes says he recorded it the same day he took delivery of the guitar which is pretty impressive if hadn't played one before.
