So I am thinking about getting a PS-5, as I am interested in some pitch bending ala the "Whammy" pedal. I am wondering with a EV-5 added into the mix for some real time control, will I be able to meet and surpass the "whammy"?
I have not been down to the store yet to check it out myself, so any advice would be great.
Thanks for the help.

hey gizzorge. i would say that using the PS-5 as a whammy is the PS-5s best feature, although ive never used a Digi Whammy. it sounds excellent, but i wish i could say the same about the other features of the PS-5 which most have mixed opinions on.

Welcome to the forum Gizzorge!
Yes, StratoSphere is right. That's really what the PS-5 is best for. The Whammy's other functions are better than the PS-5s other functions, but the PS-5s pitch bending is excellent. Also, the Boss doesn't suck tone like the Whammy (any version of Whammy) when bypassed. |

Thanks, I have been lurking for a while, and figured I should try to get more involved. Awesome site! Great forum!
I saw this clip of a guy shredding out with a whammy, and I am just wondering how much of this type of thing the PS-5 will do:

The detune, harmonizer stuff could be fun, but the pitch bending is obviously the main reason I am interested in the PS-5. I have bad feelings about Digitech stuff. Boss stuff is worry free pleasure in my book. The FV-500 pedals look great and are built Boss tuff as well (way better quality than the EV-5). |

I like my PS-5 but its a bloody expensive pedal and some people will say it's not worth the money.
All the sounds are pretty cool depending on what you are trying to play but the pitch shift is one of its easier features to use (I think so anyway).
Best to try one out before committing your folding stuff!

i've always had my eye on this pedal. after seeing the thing itself and hearing the sound demo and what it can do, it does appeal to me. my friend may be getting one soon which is fabulous
sorry i am not answering your query, hehe |
