Hi All! All i own is boss efx (Except for a tubeworks real tube OD, and two old ibanez pedals.) my fave is my old SD1 that was given to me about three weeks ago, it's a black label MIJ. I tested it against a newer one and it sounded so much better. i heard that the new ones were digital and i only use analog pedals. someone please correct me if i'm wrong. That's just waht i was told at guitar center. |

Don't always believe what they say at GC The new SD-1s are still analog. I haven't compared an old and a new pedal so I don't know how much it's changed over the years. |

| I also just got with the SD1 a, DD2, BF2 Flanger (with black knobs), and a PH2 Super Phaser, all MIJ, for nothing! this guy just gave them to me under the condition that i never get rid of them. I even told him what they were worth and he still gave them to me! i was floored. he gave up playing guitar and he wanted them to go to someone who would use them! |

| I just found out that the old DS1 and newer models are different. the difference is that the old DS-1's used a single op-amp chip and the new ones use a dual op-amp chip! other than that the circutry has been unchanged since 1978. just thought i'd share the news. |

The DS-1 changes are interesting. As far as I've heard it changed somewhere around -94. (We should perhaps rather start a new thread about this topic.) |

| my all-time favorite is a newer SD-1 modded by analog man (keeping the Boss assymetrical clipping); it sounds slightly better than my ancient MIJ (black label) SD-1. maybe that's the difference between the JRC 4558D and 4558DD chips.... |

| I only have three Boss pedals. I really like my CE-2 and my GE-7, hard to pick between the two. The CE-2 has a great sound but the GE-7 is more flexible and useful (although I have not gotten very creative on it past using the standard Boss reccomended settings). I like my BF-2 but haven't really used it for anything other than messing around with it so far. |
