Hi - can anybody tell me what the advantage is of distributing power to several pedals via a LS-2 or a NS-2 using a daisy chain. Why not just use the daisy chain straight from the PSA Power supply which can still power up to 200ma worth of pedals? Does this mean you can power more pedals?
If the daisy has a she-jack then distributing directly from the adapter sounds just as easy. The ones I have has only male jacks and I need the PSM-5 to plug the daisy chain into. It's the 200mA that counts. The distributor pedals doesn't let you power more pedals.
Thanks for the reply. When I got my BCB3 pedal case about 15 years ago, it came with a lead wich had a DC socket daisy chained to 4 DC plugs, so this works fine without need for a pedal to distribute to the others. You can buy similar daisy chain leads for a few pounds from ebay or also from www.maplin.co.uk.
Just thought I might be missing something. It makes me wonder what was the purpose of the old PSM5 and why not use the correct lead rather than needing to introduce a new pedal? At least the LS-2 and NS-2 offer another useful function as well as power distribution!
The PSM-5 is useful. It works as a switchable effects loop.
I do want to say however, that Roland sucks when they make you buy another pedal just to power the ones that you already have. The daisy chain should hook up directly to the AC/DC adapter.
