I'm going to get this pedal, I've ordered it and it should be here in about 2 days..
I heard it's a pretty rare pedal and pretty extreme also..
I like The Who en Hendrix, can I play that type of music with this pedal?

The FZ-2 isn't really that rare. but if you want the sounds of the artists that you listed the mode that you will want is mode one on the FZ-2. mode two is more grunge than classic rock. All in all you have bought a good fuzz pedal. Oh, one word of advice is that it;s kind of hard to set up, but once you do you'll love it. |

| I've got one too. I'm a bass player and bought it to try and get an industrial bass distortion. I know that the guitarists of The Deftones and Orgy used this pedal in their setups to their music could be a guage for you. |

| I'll have to agree that Mode I is the ticket for classic rock sounds. Mode II is very extreme and does not sound classic at all. A very contemporary fuzz sound that is very industrial sounding. |

The gain boost feature is also nice, use that to get a Deftones sound. |

| I'd say that the FZ-2 is more versitile than the FZ-3. With two modes of fuzz your options are increased. Go with the FZ-2, I think you'll be very happy with it. |

I would agree and say start with the FZ-2 as it is more varied ( I got this one first ) and then if you love it and want more, where most amps only go to ten, well this is Boss and they have an eleven - the FZ-3. Not to say the FZ-3 is more extreme or more over the top, it's just more fuzz as in total fuzz options. No duplication between the 2, VERY complimentary. Any fuzzy lovin' soul would be ashamed not to have these two in their collection. Then there's the Way Huge Swollen Pickle when you get rich and famous. |

I have both too, my favorite is FZ-2. You can get very weird sounds out of it. I would not call this an ordinary fuzz, its a very good noice-machine. Doubling as a good booster is also a plus. FZ-2 is more of an ordinary fuzz, not the best but good enough. |

I think you mean that the FZ-3 is more of an ordinary fuzz. |

| Thx for the fast replies, i;ll have to go test them on the weekend. cant wait till then. i hope to get a nice grrr sound thats not too high pitched and ear piercing. currently i am using boss ds1 for some rock sounds and a bit of solo, mt2 and sd1. and im a huge fan of the pumpkins but when i tried the big muff nyc reissue it juz wasnt the sound i was looking for. |

I hear that the black Russian made Big Muff's are the ones that the pumpkins used. Alot of ppl seem to like those for the "grunge" sound. Happy Hunting. |

| i tried the nyc reissue bigmuff, and the black version, the black version sounded more of a distortion to me. and also the fz3, which wasnt what i was looking for, i hope the fz2 would give me a more fuzzy sound. |
