Asking the question on this forum is probably the way to go

The most collectable compact pedals are probably the
SP-1, SG-1 and VB-2
after these you have the
PH-1, PH-1r, OD-1, TW-1, GE-6, DM-2, DM-3, DC-2, DC-3, CS-1, PN-2 and CE-2
I may have forgotten some but these usually sell for more than the average price of a used Boss pedal.

Prices differ a lot but check out the price guide on http://www.prepal.com for a rough idea about what you'll have to pay.

i'll add some pedals for you that you can collect as well. OC-2, but with the pedal name Octaver instead of Octave. DC-3, but with the name Digital Space D instead of Digital Dimension. DF-2, but with the name Super Distortion & Feedbacker instead of Super Feedbacker & Distortion.

I picked up one myself and it's a worthy addition to any Boss collection. As far as value goes, I've seen them anywhere from $30-$100 depending on the condition/box/manual/current demand. It did have one of the shortest production runs of any of the Boss pedals, along with the PW-2 that came out at the same time. Over the long haul, I believe it would take a notable guitartist using one in a high enough profile situation where people would wonder, "How did they get THAT tone?" and then if word got out that it was a Boss XT-2, because of the low supply and high demand - you could see a rise in price. But without that happening, I think you paid a fair amount and it will stay in that price range.

PQ-4 is also worth looking for, rather new but relatively rare.

bout the XT2, yep, few of them were manufactured. you can get great sounds out of it but it might take some time. i got mine for almost 5 months now and still i cant get stable setting. so i guess i have to let it go. it looks good though. :)

Got to agree with you about the looks of the XT-2. The red metallic is a great colour. I just recently got mine so I haven't put it through all the tests yet.

Just bought a GE-7 ...

Combined my XT2 with the ge7 (mids boost) and ...
WOW !!!!

I'm trying to figure out a fuzz setting on the xt2, and kinda warm and thicken the tone with the ge7 ...

you guys should try it before getting rid of the xt2 ... ~

tried the FZ3 the other day ..
gotta say ... very disappointed ...~
the XT2 is even harsher than a fuzz ... wazzup ??

Try getting a FZ-2 nebo. I think that you'll like that fuzz alot more than the FZ-3. It has alot more choices in how the fuzz is tuned plus it has a gain boost feature that can really give your amp a good kick in the ummmmm well you know.
