Been looking at schematics for both pedals, very,very simular has anyone has sucess doing this mod or instructions for doing this

Never done it... just looks like ripping out the tone control is all it would take...

I tried that, i guess buy the instructions i remove 5@11 and run a wire from 8 to the resistor in r7's open end

Those instructions are pretty correct, easier way is to just remove the tone pot and the wires at 5,8,11, and C5,R8
he makes it confusing by leaving the tone pot and wires in...

Question ...is there a tone benifit to doing this mod ? it seems you would be going backwards with removing the tone control .

well basically the sd-1 is an od-1 with a tone control, but the sd-1 sounds alot better without the tone control
