So anyone who has some extra rooted strawberry plants or runners, you are welcome to send them my way. I will root them in the greenhouse, and place them in a garden where they will be happy.

I'm already checking the nursery catalogs for varieties, but I know some of you PNW'ers have them going on and are looking to thin out.

I'm fine with covering your postage and handling.

grow big.

If I sent you any plant matter, I'd likely have my house raided. Plus, all I have are wild blueberries.

Ahem --

I'm not referring to the 'Strawberry Couch' or whatever you hipeyes call the "stuff".

I refer to actual old-fashioned, mom-'n-pop style edible strawberries, the type you make "shortcake" and "jam" with.

Totem and Hood varieties served me well in the past. They were mainly June-bearers. Actually June and July...

So I guess I'll just stick with the catalogs for now. But when the ice melts and you have runners everywhere, don't just compost them, I will adopt.
