hello everybody!
I'm seeking a DC2 for my synths, but prices are very highs for this item...so the questions are:
honestly, apart from its vintage-collector status, is this pedal really awesome in terms of musical use, especially for synths sounds? Is the price justified? How does it affect the sound? is there a demo available? thank you all Boss fans! |

There is a page with sample demos of it online -- I'll see if I can locate it.
It is absolutely without a doubt the quietest analog delay I have ever heard.
/haven't heard all that many, though

| It is one of my favorites. I use it with guitar. It is a subtle chorus effect. It is more of a spatial chorus effect than an oscillation type chorus effect. You should use it in stereo to take full advantage of the effect. |

Note also that the CE-20 had a "Dimension D" setting -- granted that this will be digital emulation of the original analog effect.

DC-2 has a wonderful sound, as described by Big Boss Man. A very useful pedal as lots of people has found out despite its collector status and because of that it is quite expensive.
If the price is justified only you can answer, but try and get hold of some soundfiles you can listen to. |

Nope. I've had two, and whilst they sound great, I got very bored of them very quickly. Maybe I'm a tweaker at heart and like knobs so I can conjure a few different sounds out of my pedals (one knob phasers don't seem tp last very long with me either), but the DC-2 just sound very samey on all the presets, except the wet/dry mix had changed a bit. As I said, I got fatigued of the sound after a week on both occasions.
IMO a Ibanez SC10 with the speed all the way down, depth at 3 and the delay time fairly low gets fairly close to a DC-2 dimension like sound, and they're $30 all over ebay. On the other hand you can buy a DC-2 and if you don't like it they're pretty easy to resell. |

| I ve heard all the demos available on the net, and I finally found that I could get quite the same dimension effect with my CE1 put at the minimum, the most important thing seems to be the stereo output... so I will not spend my money on a DC2..but I will take a look if I find a real bargain.. |

Hi RRV-10 I have a couple of BC10's the bass version, I was wondering, if by (depth at 3) you mean 3 O'clock position, or as in the 3rd mark on the depth control.
I have used both the SC10 & the BC10, in IMHO, the BC10 wins hands down, I was lucky enough to have both for a while,
my senior manager loaned be his SC10 for a couple of weeks. The BC10 is richer & fuller, for the same or similar settings.

As stated elsewhere, don't forget to run the DC-2 output in stereo if at all possible. Makes a big difference. |

Yes, I meant 3,o clock. Never tried the BC10. Might keep an eye out for it, as the SC10 has an annoying treble boost about it. |

| Also, running the DC2 in stereo is a must. |

Hi RRV-10 The BC10 is nothing like an SC10, it's way better, they didn't just change a few caps to lower the frequency response.
I have 2 of them - they sound very different to a Boss CE-2, they sound fuller & wider, I prefer them sometimes (Blasphemy ), depending on the song.
