I have found a ce-2 and the seller says that serial is nr: 929507
witch according to the serialnumber encoder is 1987.
The back label is gone and it says Japan on the seial nr tag.
But it says on bossarea that the ce-2 was only made untill 1982.
The C in ce is under the U

Does any one know what this could mean?
Axel

Hi. See the explanation below from Boss Area.com:

Roland claims that production of the CE-2 stopped November 1982. This doesn't appear to be true. Boss compact pedal production officially moved from Japan to Taiwan in December 1986 and there are a number of green Label, "Made in Taiwan", CE-2 pedals out there.
Then the seller should be right.

It sounds genuine.
CE-2 production moved to Taiwan 1989 and pedals made from 1984 and onwards would have originally had green labels.

I have two green label CE-2s. One doesn't have a serial number label inside it but the other one dates to 1987.

Should be okay...

HI Axel_h

In my humble opinion
Any CE-2 is worth owning
With or without lable - serial numbers - box - manual
And no matter how beat up.

Roland-Boss just got it right with this design, the slight mid boost can be magic with acoustic guitars.

Unless the guy selling it, is asking insane amounts of dollars for it.

I currently own three of them, & use them in a Tri-Chorus setup.

Stratosphere, will also tell you that the secret settings are:
Slow & Deep
Fast & Deep
