| Has anyone had any experience with the DN-2? i had one for a couple months but decided to trade it in because i didn't like it's sound. Just wondering what your thoughts and oppinions were on this particular pedal. i thought the concept was pretty cool and i still respect it, it juest wasn't for me. The Boss product brochure PDF also states that it works best with the BD-2, is that true? Has anyone tried it?? |

| I really wanted to like my DN-2, but it could not compare to my beloved SD-1. never tried it with a BD-2, though. |

i couldn't agree more, the SD-1 one of the most influential pedals to ever grace the market.the DN-2 would seem more technically advanced at first glance but i feel the DN-2 is technically challenged if anything... maybe i just wasn't using it right (how hard could it be right? three knobs lol) but it seemed to be a really thin sounding overdrive with no personality (to me at least). i mean, you can basically roll back the volume on any over-drive pedal/play softer and achieve the same dynamics of the DN-2 right? i tried it on all of my amps and with all of my guitars and got the same idea but i was just wondering if i'm the only one who had this ideal.. since i haven't heard that many reviews on this pedal. thanks! |

| I liked DN-2 the first month then I got tired of it, there is something in the sound that is a bit unnatural. |

yea, i only used it in church for a few times because alot of the music we played was alternative style and we had alot of build ups. all in all i'd have to say that the DN-2 is probably my least favorite pedal from boss. it's probably the only boss pedal i wouldn't give another chance lol |

| I tried it out in the store and really didn't like it to much. But it is a great idea for a pedal almost tube like. Needs a little bit better of a tone |

AGREED. maybe they will fix this if they make a DN-3, i noticed that some music store websites like www.musiciansfriend.com have cut prices down from $129.99 USD to 95.99 USD recently (which is a decent price cut for such a new pedal on the market) |

I'll defend this little guy, he is my drive of choice (and I have a lot to choose from).
The 'unnatural' thing about this pedal is its leveling. No matter how softy I play the pedal keeps a consistent level. And this is why I love it. I'm a finger picker and this pedal gets me from nearly clear tone to over driven crunch with just a strum of the fingers, then gets me right back to nearly clear with a delicate pluck. And best of all the delicate clear plucking comes through loud and clear as the drive is still breaking up. |
