ok so ive had many pedals over the years and due to marriage and family ive gotten rid of all but one. when my cousin died i got his guitar and only pedal. that was 11 years ago, i plugged it in and wasn't all that impressed so back in the drawer it went and i played the guitar every so often without any effects. so yesterday im playing and i decide i need a distortion pedal (damn have these jumped in price) so i buy a cheapo DOD grunge. while online i decided to try to find out what this other pedal was designed for. lowe and behold it's a Boss vb-2. why the hell are these things so expensive??? to be honest if the window was closer 11 years ago i would have chucked it into the woods. more then likely ill get rid of it so i can get something ill actually use.
Great story, welcome to the board! I too had a cousin that passed & I wanted his Strat & Peavey Renown so bad, if only to carry on for him.. what a great guy. I'm sure we'd all love to see pics if possible.
I actually remember buying a VB-2 when they came out. I thought "Wonderful! I can have that blackface Fender sound effect in a pedal!" ...Silly me; Leo Fender got the friggin' terms wrong. What I wanted was tremolo(and not the bar on a guitar either!! Dammit Leo!!) The VB-2 had that underwatery sound...not tremolo! So I parted with it quick. Boy if I knew then what I know now...I'd have kept it even though I never could use it!
im having issues uploading images. ill try to post some pics tomorrow. the guitar is a pantera made by westone. plays well but its definately not my old jackson soloist. the pedal has a few small scratches but it seems like nobody has ever velcroed it. i plugged it in last night and toyed with it. darn thing makes me sea sick lol.
for some reason i can't upload images. anyone have any ideas how i can post pics of this stomp box and guitar???
It's an ongoing problem. The file upload code isn't very good so it falls over quite often. I believe Imageshack and photobucket provide picture hosting free of charge but I haven't used them myself so someone correct me if I'm wrong. The third alternative is to e-mail me the pictures (borgetx@hotmail.com) and I'll copy them up to the site. It's a bit slower but very reliable
