I am using the Boss OD-3/SD-1 as a boost into a Fender Tweed Twin amp for Hard Rock and Blues along the lines of Led Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix, ZZ Top. What do you use?

Well the only overdrive I use is the SD-1. I either use it as the only od/dist, or as a boost into MD-2. I mainly use DS-1 into MT-2 even though theres no overdrive, and I just got a HM-2 that i want to work in somewhere

sometimes the SYB-5 "wave shape" filters, sometimes the TM-7 knobs full clockwise...

I normally use a stinkfoot SD-1 Plus. I recently got an OD-3 and this is quite nice, too. I am also looking forward to a stinkfoot DS-1, which promises to be a great overdrive, as well.

Cheers

i like my OD to be simple as possible and it doesnt get much easier than an OD-1. i also use a SD-1 in my chain. pedals like the OS-2 and SD-2 are super awesome OD's but i never use them on my board. you can get any sound out of them, but like i said i want my OD to be preset and ready to go.

BD-2 and Keeley SD-1 seem to get the most use with me.

OD-1 / BD-2

But that'll change when I get my hands on an OD-3

Besides BOSS I use a Marshall Guv'nor ( 1st edition ) and an 80'ies TS-9

oh.. and not forgetting my Pearl OD-05...

I used a ds1/od2 combo for about 12 years on my board with a fz3 making its way on and off for the last coule of years but i fancied a change so i bought a seymour duncan twin tube classic and thats what i'm using now all the time..its like two pedals in one....crunch and lead channels..very fat sounding pedal...with a bit more headroom for my strat with the clapton booster in it......

I recently did a test recording with 10, yes 10, overdrives and submitted them to a few tone-heads for 'tasting'. There were a couple of 'highly sought after' vintage pedals and some boutique stuff. The OD-3 won hands down...

Admittedly I didn't try every setting on every pedal but still an impressive result nonetheless.

Hi there - i use my sd2 as my main overdrive just now - but i must admit im more of a distortion kinda guy so i go for the df2 or if im feeling especially filthy the mt2.

mt2 is the most versatile of the distortions imho but i love the warm sound of the df2. My keeley ds1 sounds a bit weak compared to it but it might just be my rose tinted beer glasses.
