Why don't upload some pics of the most old and most mint pedal so we can find out who ownes the most rare pedal. For example: I upload my DC-2 mint with no box or manual, but then someone upload a pic of their DC-2 mint in box and manual. Then he is the winner of the rarest DC-2. If we do the same thing with all (old) pedals it could be fun to find out who got the most of the rarest. Like an inside contest. Who's on?

well rare doesn't really mean mint now does it.

cuz if someone posted a pic of his DS-1 without box or manual and I went to the shop and got a new DS-1 with box and manual and most likely stickers to boot and I would win cuz mine is more rare - that'd be kinda strange...

but apart from that I think that's a nice contest - especially since most of us are only here to show off

and making mint-ity a factor when both pedals are equally rare is quite okay.

Hi gurran1928

Sounds interesting.
But is the competition for the:
Oldest pedal?
Or the Most Minty pedal?
Or the Mintiest Oldest pedal?

I think I just gave myself a confusion headache...

If it's Minty & Old,
I'm out, I only have Old pedals,
It's very difficulty to find (Minty Old & Rare) pedals out here in Oz.

Regards Dr. Bob

I think gurran1928 meant both. EG, you post a pic of your shoddy boxless MIJ early DS-1 in operational condition, and someone can raise you a minty boxed MIJ early DS-1. The party that raised wins. Obviously if you post a pic of a DS-1 you just bought, then you'd lose on lack of vintage. And really, who's going to cheat?
So it's kind of like pokemon, but no bulbasaur, and boss pedals in place. "My DS-1 has minty magic, and has combined with the box to evolve into SUPER MINTY BOXED DS-1, with 500 more hit points?" Or top trumphs? You know, the cards? I dunno, I ramble.
Anyway, I vote that gurran1928 is the referee in the contests since he suggested it....

Seems to me, you need to come up with a simple rating system as follows.

Minty 1..10; 10 being near perfect, 1 a battlebox.

Age 1...10; 10 being oldest sn ... 1 being newest
we can group that in years, i.e. 30 years of boss pedal, first 3 being 10 etc.
(maybe need to be a 30 point schedule year now that I think of it)
Complete Package 1...10; 10 being box, white sheet inside the lid,
baggie, stickers, pocket vol ... vs 0 no box.

Calculate a weighted average.

How's that for job for you, Dr. BOB!!! We'll need to come up with panel of judges too.
