I have not heard all of them, but I have CH-1, CE-2 and DC-3.
DC-3 is by far the best in my opinion, liquid, clear, adds shimmer to the note in a pleasant way. Works in conservative settings as EH-2 (in a way).
CE-2 thickens the tone in a nice way, I really likes this one too, much more subtile than DC-3 but in a good way.
CH-1 I dont like at all, never use it. I sounds to processed for me, or something thats hard to describe.
Opinions and what about the others?

Oh, I forgat I had a CE-1 in the 80s, that was a really good chorus as I can remember. Big.....
As I remember I traded it for a RAT later....

My favorites are the DC2 and DC3, but CE2 is great in it's own way. I have never cared for the CE1. It was a bit too much for my tastes, plus it has a slight boost that I don't care for.

I like the CE-2 and DC-3 best of those I've tried (CE-2, CE-3, CH-1, DC-2, DC-3). I haven't tried the standalone CE-1 but as I understand it, it should be similar to the JC-120's built in chorus and I find that awesome.

The CE-3 was supposed to be a stereo version of the CE-2 but for some reason it just doesn't sound the same at all. Instead it's like a tamed version of the CE-2.

What's a good price for a used DC-3? From what I'm reading, it's THE boss chorus to go for. Are there any drawbacks to using it? Is there any difference between blue and red label?

The only one I've ever seen with the red label was a picture of "Digital Space D". I'm not sure if the normal Digital Dimension was ever available with other labels than blue.

Average Ebay UK price is about 45-55. They're not rare so you should be able to get one quite easily.

I've seen the DC3 go for around $100 to 130 in shops and on eBay. That's for the one marked "Digital Dimension". The one marked "Digital Space D" gets $120 to 150 for some reason, even though they are identical in every way except the name printed on the pedal. The great thing about the DC3 is that you have the option of dialing in the "effect level" for very subtle to very thich chorus sounds.

I like the CE-2. It's got a really nice shimmer to it, of all the chorus' I've tried this is my fave. i like the CH-1, i use it as a more subtle chorus, I haven't tried the DC-2, and DC-3, but i hear good things. The CE-5 is good, but kind of hard to get a good setting, and i hear that all the ones produced after 2002 are digital. and the CE-20 is total crap! It's harsh and sterile to my ears. but anything before the CE-5 is good in my book.

bossfreak's DC-3 estimate was better than mine. I had a look through completed items on Ebay and see that the last one went for 67.

So if we gonna have just one Boss-Chorus, DC-3 is the one to go for ( I would personally without doubt say yes for this)?

We may agree that the DC-3 is a good chorus but it isn't a typical chorus. I can imagine many situations where I want a specific type of sound to play a cover song and I just can't use a DC-3 because it doesn't have the typical sound we associate with a chorus pedal.

So my conclusion is that I need more than one chorus. Maybe it's just an excuse to buy every single chorus Boss has ever released

I'm a bass player and I use the DC-3 for my main chorus. I have a CEB-3 thrown in for a thicker, less "dimensional" sound. I got my DC-3 on eBay for $91. I got really lucky. Ebay is weird like that, sometimes you get lucky.

CE2 is quiet great i guess. but, i've heard that CE5 is good too...
it can produce sound more & more chorus... like CE2 (i believe it's classic chorus that i heard)...
CH1? wow... i've sold it a week ago... it sounds so weird or nothing special...
but Joe Satriani used it,...i guess or based on what i knew...
DC3?... well it;s quiet rare in here...(in my country).
