Folks - does anyone have one of these? I've just made a clone and I think it's breaking up way more than it should, but it's hard to tell without an original to compare it to!

This is the schematic I based it on: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_toct_sc_improved.pdf

EDIT: Just swapped the transistors from 2N5088 to BC548. Tamed it down. FUZZZZZZZZYYYY. Sounds good through a reverb and delay.

Did you make the version with the pre-gain control?

OK OK, I know I'm the only one posting to this thread, but this pedal is cool enough to keep me looking for the "right" tone out of it.

I've been tinkering with the circuit and am inching closer to a really good sounding fuzz pedal. Already blows the doors off my FZ-3. Once I have it sorted, I will post the final schematic if anyone is interested?

Hi Laurie & Guys

I know this is a dumb question, but have you ever heard samples of the real unit in action?

Haven't heard an actual Octavia, but there are a few clips of clones floating around.

I'm at the point where I'm not chasing "the actual" sound any more, but I'm searching for something that sounds good to me and the circuit just happens to be based on the Octavia clone (which isn't a faithful copy of the original anyway according to the link above).

Hi Laurie & Guys

Slightly off topic, butt still on octave dividers.

Have you looked at Craig Anderton's old "Roctave Divider" project.
The PCB layout is larger than pedal size though.

I have one sitting here in the Mountain of rainy day To-Do's.

I helped my young brother in law, build it back many less dead brain cells ago.

And in a recent clean up, he gave it back to me, it was sitting in the dark recesses of a cupboard in his old family home.
He even included the optional 4017 divider extender option.

I haven't been able to locate a sound sample of one.

See some links below:

(some good o;d stuff here, inc the original project)
