hey everyone, been a while since ive said anything...
wanted to know if anyone has had/played/use a danelectro U2 or DC59. what do they sound like, playability and that sort of stuff. im thinking about buying one brand new for 155 delivered off the net. ive always been curious about these guitars and for that price it seems like a bargin.
heres the link

for some reason it is a DE59, is that different than a DC or a spelling mistake? |

hahaha that could be one of the reasons for buying one... i guess the reissue would be as good, they seem to have made some improvements. i did see an original 60's one on the weekend for sale, 600 is a little bit expensive though! |

| i have a Dano Pro Reissue and it's alright...the pickups are wired to make it a humbucker when in the middle position and i think that's a nice feature...soundwise it's pretty nice, hard explain for me but it's a good one if you ask me...i guess it sounds like a hollowed out guitar with lipsticks would, ha, the bridge pickup is pretty thin but the neck pickup it great i think, tone control is kinda iffy, it doesn't do much until the last third and then it just makes it mud but at full tilt it sounds great so i never minded that...my only real issues are the tuners and that the high E on mine frets out alot...but i mean the neck is a nice size and smooth and so on...for that price it might be worth it to check it out...esp. cause the 59's go for alot more lately since they're discontinued or something... |
