Something is odd about the jacks on my DS-1.
When any pressure is applied, seemingly making teh plugs move a little, the sound shorts out.
So stepping on the bugger is a big no no. What can I do?

Hi NetStar
Maybe the 1 or both nuts have come loose on the sockets, & they may have twisted inside the pedal over time.
Open the pedal up, & check that the lugs that the wires solder onto, aren't shorting out to the chassis or some other part of the PCB, or circuit.
This is a common fault, sometimes the nuts holding the pots come loose, the pot then twists & may short out onto some part of the pedal.
I bought a MIJ SD-1 that had a loose level pot that had shorted out, to one side of the chassis. It was sold as FAULTY-Not Working, took all of about 5 mins to fix.
Hope this helps, Good luck...
Regards Dr. Bob |

Try using adaptor to see if you get any sound. If you already used one, try now batteries. Think your problem lies here rather than in the in-and output plugs.
Do you get any noise at all? Put a cable in the pedal, hold one end, and put other end in pedal, plug output into your amp, and see if you get any noise when you put your thumb on the input-plug.
Good luck!!

I think that means Dr. Bob is onto something...either a loose connection/ short on an input/output jack or on a pot which has now become totally detached/ shorted with the removal of the base plate (or turning the pedal upside down, resting it on the knobs...).
Look for a loose wire/ broken connection... |

Personally I think you are all missing the obvious - clearly if he has broken a boss DS-1 he posesses superhuman strength remember that with great power comes great responsibility! |
