Does anyone know what Boss pedal will yield the closest sound to a Big Muff Pi? Seems like my FZ-5 has some overlap but am wondering if there is a better match. Thanks.

I think HM-2 is very close to the BMP both circuit-wise and also sound-wise.

I think PW-2 is close to a Big Muff, the bottom end is really there.

I know the FZ3 has a tone circuit similar to the BMP, but it's set to flat not mid scooped

Yep, I'd say the PW-2 as well. Surprised it never really sold that well.

The one in general circulation on the WWW has several errors.

A little off topic.. but I heard a Roland BeeBaa tonight and it was VERY muffy. Killer, in fact.

It's too bad Boss didn't opt to create a dedicated fuzz unit which accomplishes this popular kind of sound.

The beebaa seems to be a bit of a sought after fuzz in certain circles...i've never seem many around the place on my travels... in fact the first time i saw one was in a guitar mag with a interview with the guitar player out of the aussie band Wolfmother who had one on his board....
