So, I have this HF-2 (sounds great, BTW!) but unlike my other Boss pedals, I noticed a mechanical "click" when pressing the pedal. Turns out that the lid doesn't fit properly - there's a little play from side to side, and the "click" is the metal from a couple of parts of the lid touching the pedal before the screw could hit the rubber grommet. Picture included for clarification.

I have 9 Boss pedals and only 1 (NS-2) DOES NOT do that "click". Im gonna put two pieces of that anti-static sponge in those two points of the lid and i think it will solve the prob.. |

Aha! OK, so apparently the weird thing is that my other pedals don't!
Thanks for the info! |

| I believe it is the rubber grommet. Needs to be a little more thick. Its not a problem that we cannot handle. |

Take the little rubber ring out and see if this improves the feel and solves the click.
Try changing rubber rings from other pedals, sometimes other pedals respond in a different way, just see if it works. |

Interestingly, it's not related to the rubber ring. I've even put in a larger one (you may be able to see in the picture), but the metal makes contact before the screw can touch the rubber.
I think it's more related to the hight at which the hinge screw holes are drilled... Maybe.
Checking some of my pedals in the closet, it seems that both CH-1s click also. All my older MIJ pedals are click free. |

I've always noticed the HF-2's pedal action was too soft compared to other Boss pedals. You need to turn up the volume if you can hear your pedals clicking |

Yeah i've found that some of mine click too and some don't. Haven't thought that hard about it to notice a common thread.
ChristoMephisto has a point either play lounder or step softer!!! |
