Just picked up my two first boss pedals today.
An FZ-2 and a SD-1.
I must say after the wait and deliberation of where to spend my hard earned cash, it feels awesome
I do have a technical question about my FZ. the level knob is loose and my friend was messing with and pulled it completely off, now it will come off the metal knob without any effort. where can I get a replacement or fix this b*stard. |

Hi FatsoForgotso
Congratulations of your first 2 Boss pedals..
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
If you look at the shaft of the pot on the FZ-2 & most other modern pot & Pedals. You will see a cut or split section, if you very gently pry this apart with a small flat screwdriver, It will widen this slot, & the knob will push back on to the splines on the pot. But be careful & be gentle, you don't have to widen the slot very much for the knob to be a tight fit. if you force it, yo may have to squash it back together a bit. Or worst case you will snap off one of the sides.
Else if it's New Old Stock & under Warranty, you could always take it back for a replacement.
The the fix, is easier that a trip back to the store.
It's actually much simpler to do, that to try & explain, and it's common to 18 tooth-spline, split shaft pots.
Regards Dr. Bob

| Hi FatsoForgotso...I like your name, is it a tribute to Kyuss/QOTSA who had a similar titled song on a split EP? Just wondering....Welcome to the forum! |

Excellent songs hehe.
thanks for the welcome and I agree, they are very nice pedals. I've been loving the hell outta them. They compliment each other nicely. |

| Most people I've talked it disagree. Tell me I wasted my money on the FZ. I can't see why, I love it. |

Hi and again, welcome to the forum FatsoForgotso!
I've acquired loads of fuzzes (I just can't help myself...) and the FZ-2 is still there with the others - a great pedal. I use fuzz on an already overdriven amp channel rather than on a clean sound, as you just get more of that fuzzy warmth - might need a good noise gate though to keep it under control. People who run them straight through a clean channel quite often complain that fuzzes sound thin and buzzy - but you need to give them a bit of dirt to get them going imho!!
I saw in another thread that you were wondering about a PW-2 - I use one a lot - I think it's better for recording than live though but delivers a really fat sound and cleans up like a good fuzz when you back the guitar's volume off. My mate stuffed it through a Mesa stack a few months ago and it rocked like a good 'un.
Bringing more fuzz to the world
