Hey Defrag.
I just looked thru, every page on both those links.
I think I just had the best "gear sex" in my life.
I hope my GAS doesn't go ape Sh!t later.
It puts my collection into some perspective.
And when Mrs Dr. B complainns about "What More gear"
(not that that happens so much these days)
I can show her a slide show of the pics I just collected from those links.
I suppose it's really great having access to that much gear,
but in the end it's what you do with it.
If it's just an OCD thing, then that's good too.
But I really try to use what I have,
even if it ends up in the not so good folder/s on the overflowing Hard Drives.
The track "Never" came about from playing with some new gear.
I don't know about you & the other guys, but I always find (new to the collection) toys to be very inspirational.
Even if it's just the tone-timbre of a new acoustic,
or another, different type of Dist./Overdrive pedal.

I agree with you though, new gear inspires me as well & I try to use all I have but some of my stuff I haven't gotten around to yet. DAW, TC interface, etc.

I'm movin' to the states.... no wonder some of this stuff is hard to get....seriously with the way the Euro is with sterling at the moment it's actually getting very attractive for us to buy in the U.K. where there is a bigger marketplace for this stuff..i wouldn't say no to another 70's Superbass head/Hiwatt DR-103 or selmer combo/vox AC15 etc at the right price... tatty is ok as long as it works..... ...
P.S what do you think of the guy who bought a '72 Hiwatt halfstack because his band played ONE SONG that the original artists used a Hiwatt on.......... |
