What would be, for you, the best effect for guitar and for bass, if you had a limit of 6 Boss pedals ?
Guitar : DS1 jap + OD1 + DC3 + RV5 + DD6 + HR2
Bass : CS2 + FT2 + SYB3 + ODB3 + LMB3 + NS2 (I know it looks like my pedal board ) |

NS-2 - CS-3 - OD-1 - CE-3 = DD-6 = RV-5 => Stereo amp.
= means stereo connection, - means mono.
I don't have the DD-6 but I connected up the above last week using a separate delay on each channel instead of the DD-6 and the sound was massive. I've never rated the CE-3 much in the past but in stereo it was awesome.
Both amps have now been wrapped as X-mas presents so I'm back to square one again. Doh! |

I guess the quest for the ultimate "tone" always is going on. However, my current setup works really good and I cant think of a better one at this time:
OD-1->PQ-4->DC-3->DD-2->Amp
I would have liked to have an RV-2 in there too though, but I dont own one.
Sometimes I replace the DD-2 with my DM-3 and sometimes a DS-1 MIJ replaces the OD-1. But this is the main setup that I have found works really well with the amp I am using. I used to treasure my GE-7, but since I bought the PQ-4 it seems to deliver more tone tweaking possibilities than the GE-7. |

For guitar:
CS-2 > BD-2 > DS-1 > FZ-2 > DC-3 > DD-20 > 2 amps with reverb
By this setup I got a lot of different overdrives/distortions and stereo out on both the chorus and delay. DD-20 has four memories so the delay is very versatile.

If I had a limit of only six pedals AND this pedals had to be Boss I would make my setup as follows:
CS-2 > SD-2 > CE-5 > PH-3 > DD-20 > RV-5
Of these six little stompers I own only the CS-2 and the DD-20. But if I could only have six Id rather go with the most versatile units than with the ones with the most mojo |

For Bass: PQ-3B -> LM-2B -> CE-2B / BF-2B -> RV-2 -> OC-2 Except for the RV-2 i got all of them. Right now i use just 4 pedals in a row: i switch between BF-2B and CE-2B a lot. |

Today it would be: CS-3>SD-1>CE-2>BF-2>DM-2>DD-2
Tomorrow??? The variable is the BF-2. |

I don't know if I could really get away with only six, but if I were to strip my current pedal array down to six Boss pedals, it would be:
LS2 - OD3 - BD2 - PH2 - AC2 - TR2
I would be dropping my TU2 and DD2, but I could always use a rackmount tuner and delay.
If I were going to make it more of a "dream pedal board", but with pedals that I actual would use (ie: replacing them wouldn't cost a small fortune), I'd have the following:
LS2 - OD1 (quad-version) - SD1 (Japanese) - PH1 - SG1 - TR2 |
