Flanger and chorus are generally interchangable as far as sequence. I tend to run chorus then flanger because flangers sound stronger to me. I would run whichever (if either) you want to run in stereo last.
I would place the PS-5 as the last pedal into your amp, NOT in the effects loop. |

I prefer flangers before chorus. Generally both before any delay/reverb, but I am currently using chorus at the end of the chain (after the delay).
I would put any pitch-shifting on the cleanest possible signal. |

I run phaser (mono) - flanger (stereo split) - chorus (stereo) - delay (stereo).
More because of the mono/stereo splitting than anything else. |

phase (even before comp and dist), dist, flanger, chorus, analog delay, digital delay.
Mind you it's not often that I have 2 types of modulation on at the same time. Modulation ans 1 or 2 delays, sure. |

a lot of it depends on what you want and what you are looking for tonewise. i know a few people who prefer their modulations before the distortion since it gives a different type of sound, etc.
for my own sound, i generally picture it in terms of what an effect is attempting to do and where it would be in the order of things as well as if you are going for live tone or studio tone. e.g. i use reverb last since it's supposed to simulate the fullness and natural reverb of playing in a large room. i go chorus/rotary 2nd to last since it's supposed to simulate the doppler effect of stereo panning between speakers (or a spinning speaker for a rotary).
flanging is based upon a studio tape process, so for live playing, it makes more sense to me to chorus/reverb a flanged sound than it does to flange a chorus/reverb sound. etc.

| I prefer to put my CE-2 after my DM-3. Sounds better to my ears. |

the chorus can be before or after the delay... taste subject...... the phaser can be before or after the distortion (VAN HALEN uses before the distortion)... the flanger after the distortion (I use my BF-2 before the distortion of my rocktron chameleon)Phaser and flanger always before the chorus. |

| I like a phaser before a flanger or chorus, as I want more detail from the green beasties. |
