Today i picked up a new BF-3 and when i got home i looked at an older box and seen that my new BF-3's box dosent have the R in the Grean Triangle.
So my question is, why does my BF's box not have it and others do. also what is it for anyway? |

I've heard about the R in a triangle but I've never seen it.
Is it a sticker or is it printed on the box? |

I believe it's just an external indicator of ROHS compliance.. I found one reference to a "Green triangle" as an ROHS label, but couldn't find it on an order form for a variety of ROHS compliance labels.
It SHOULD be on all currently produced pedals, I suppose.

I have a green triangle on a couple of boxes. One is a NS-2 and is actually a solid green sticker placed on the box. The other is a DD-3 and is in fact printed on the box. The printed version also has a white boarder around it.
Maybe it is just like those strange circle stickers that are on some of the boxes from the eighties, and we will never know the answer?
On a somewhat related point, I have noticed that the five year warranty sticker is now printed on. As with my DN-2 box. |

No idea of the history of this box. It has a 1988 CS-3 in it today, but its for sure not the original box for that pedal.
Printed (not a sticker).

| I have 5 boxes with R triange printed on them, TR-2, BD-2, NS-2CS-3 and TU-2. Funny thing is I have 2 NS-2 boxes and only one has the R. |

Maybe if you collect enough of the tri box they will give you one of those gold commemorative DS-1. Bet you could fetch a big sum for one of those.... EBay BIN $100,000.00 |

December 2006. Purchased brand new. Not as awesome as Laurie's photo but that one is printed on the box and has a white boarder.
