Summer NAMM starts 3 weeks from now. What do you expect Boss to show us? Last year they revealed the SYB-5 and the year before, the OC-3. Will we get any new products this year? Have you heard any rumours or do you have a good guess? |

I haven't heard about anything but I have high hopes for something cool. I don't know why they don't release a few pedals a year like they used to instead of just one. I don't think there's any reason for them to not update some of the pedals that are no longer made. I sometimes think of Boss as a company that doesn't even make pedals anymore, that stopped production years ago. It seems like that sometimes, doesn't it? I mean one pedal a year compared to years when they would release three or four!? Do they consider themselves a boutique line now with only one release a year? That sounds really bitter for some reason... |

Yes, I have to agree with that. I guess their focus has been on the twin pedal series and the GT-8 and GT-pro multieffects instead. Maybe their older designs are still selling so good that there's no point making new pedals?
A wild guess is that we get another dry year with one new pedal. I have a feeling it will be called CE-6. The CE-5 has been around since 91 so sales are probably in decline. |

personally, I'd welcome a CE-6, especially if it sounds closer to the CE-2 than the CE-5. (or perhaps there will be a MT-3?)
this is pure speculation, but I'm wondering if this year is when Boss will cease production and/or replace one of its two most venerable pedals (SD-1 or DS-1). after seeing both on sale for ~$35 at guitar center several times over the last year or two, you kind of get the feeling Boss is simply trying to get rid of inventory. it would be a shame to lose either of those two pedals to posterity, but given how far sound quality has sunk in those two models since the late '80s (no more MIJ), maybe it would be for the best.... |

| I personally don't understand boss sometimes. Some of their pedals have their potential so limited...example, the MT-2. That pedal stock sounds like garbage, harsh, tinny, cheap sounding. Change a few capacitors, and it sounds like a whole different pedal. And the MD-2...god it's awfull. I don't think they'll stop production, that would be a horrible move on their part, come on, do you know HOW many pedals boss sells a year? And the MT-2 is their best selling pedal, it would be a good idea to update it. |

| I'm not sure if that's directed at my earlier post, but just to clarify, I'm not implying that Boss should, or will, stop production. They've sold over 8 million units in compact pedals and there's no sign of that slowing or stopping any time soon. My post was more from the viewpoint of the older pedals being more desirable and that because they haven't released a really great pedal in a few years, it seems as if they haven't even produced pedals for some time. |

| I just checked out the Effects Guidebook and there are no new pedals. Just the GT-8 processer, and a dual footswitch (combines FS-L & The momentary type into one package) that's it. |

Which guidebook is that? #19 has been out for a while now. Summer Namm is 22nd-25th July and anything new is usually revealed there before it is printed in the catalogues. |

| If they do issue another pedal I hope that it isn't a rehash of what they have already done. |
