d3 and d4 red LED's
Removed C25 and C35
C34 to .047uf
R41 to 470 ohms
its def. better than stock imo, but i was wondering what other diodes people have tried out in the clipping section and what kinda results you got. also any other mod recomendations would be appreciated

Hi frankie pajamas

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

Laurie's "Storm Chased Mod" is very Cool.

If you are just looking to try different diodes,
fro a soft clip.
you could use a pair of back to back Germanium diodes, or
a set of silicon 1N400x any 1N4002 - !N4004 - 1N4007 diodes will work.
Like the Red LED's they will sounder louder when clipping.

Or you could use 3 diodes (2) in one leg and (1) in the other
fro some asymetrical clipping.

You can also try out some 1N914 also known as 1N4142 small siganl diodes.

If you fit some/all thees variations onto a small switch, you will be able to try out the various options.

Lauries "Storm Chase Mod" uses MOSFETS, wired as soft clippers, but Laurie,
has also done a number of tone improvenemt mods.

Good luck - and please keep us informed of your progress.

Regards Dr. Bob
