I agree with that, i do love the big muff
I love the BMP sound too. I actually own a 90's re-issue. I also recently bought a Russian BMP. The PW-2 sound is right in there with what I like. I also have a Skreddy Pig Mine on order...5 month waiting list...I can't wait! |

Is your reissue one of the green ones? I just rehoused my green BMP after the switch broke... still sounds great and now it has true bypass! |

No not a green one, though I would like a green one. Absolutely Analog makes green BMP clone that I have been considering. See it here: http://absolutelyanalog.com/GreenRussian.html |

You can buy replacement switches (and other parts) for the green Russian one here: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Categories.bok?category=Electro-Harmonix%2FSovtek+Repair+Parts
Very true! My switch broke back in 2000 and, unfortunately, I decided that I would try to fix it at that time, despite having zero experience with repairing electronics. Well, it sat in pieces on my workshop shelf for 9 years (during which a bunch of essential parts went missing!) until I decided to repair and rehouse the entire thing this past winter.
I wish I'd had the opportunity to buy a new switch before I decided to take the thing apart. I'd definitely recommend just buying a replacement switch over doing all the work I did to get mine up and running again! |

hi laurie, I've just decide to try and build a pw2 clone.
Ive got your link for the circuit, and think I can manage it, but have a couple of questions for you.
are all the components still made/available?
where does the battery connect, is it just across the ac adapter socket?
Is the ciruit 100% accurate?
thanks in advance.
maybe I should have started a new thread for this? |

The components (or equivalents) are all available. Schematic on my site is verified 100% accurate.
The battery, 9V adapter socket, and input jack are all wired together a certain way to provide the appropriate power switching - see any Boss factory schematic for how its done.

Thanks Laurie, sorry for being so lazy and not finding out about the components but I figured you would have a prety good idea of the top of your head.
I also appologise for hijacking the thread.
P.S. don't suppose any one has a circuit board trace, do they?
thanks. |

Looking at the PW2 schem, might be easier to make a BMP clone and house it in a Boss pedal, hmmmmm |

just managed to get all the bits for my pw 2 clone, came with a circuit board with the tracks and holes in just the right places, all the components and a metal housing that says "boss pw-2" on it.
how lucky is that? |

How do you like it? I'm eyeing the PW-2 now that I have a BMP - in the name of standardization, of course |
