Has anyone in the UK got one of these from a store yet? [Edited - kipper15 - just noticed you got hold of one but stocks were low]
I went into my local store today and they think there is a severe shortage of stock at the moment - maybe in-store by early 2010 if we are lucky
They did have a demo unit which I tried - sweet - I definitely want one.
Anyone heard anything more about UK supplies? |

Thanks for the youtube link Kipper.
Haven't had a chance to try this yet.
I found the reverb on the FDR-1 to be disappointing. The length of the reverb was the same now matter how hard or soft you hit the note. Is this thing better than the FDR-1? If you hit it hard, does it echo for longer and louder like a real reverb?
Also, have they tried to put in naff scratches and things this time? (hoping not).
If it's better, I'll definitely buy one. I hope that Boss releases an updated, better MkII FDR-1, because I really want one, I just want it to be good. |

Finally.......
So I've spent 10 minutes playing with it and it is an interesting pedal. I don't have an original Fender Reverb, but i do have a tube reverb on my Fender Vibrolux reissue.
On minimal reverb settings (closer to dry) the FRV-1 and the Vibrolux sound almost identical. Quite a surprise ascually - they nailed it.
On wetter settings, the FRV-1 seems much brighter. Still fiddling with settings, so might be able to get them closer (not that it really matters). |

Doc,
Sorry for the delay in replying, been on holiday. I got the first of only a handful that Nevada managed to get into stock a few weeks back. I got sent an email from Roland UK on the 9th September (see text pasted in below) confirming UK availability. If you're still looking for one maybe give their customer service people a call or drop them a line via email?
Thank you for requesting new product arrival information using our "Email Me" service on our website.
We are delighted to tell you that the FRV-1 has arrived in the UK and is now available from dealer stores. For details of your local dealer, please log on to our dealer locator or contact our customer service team on 01792 702701.
If you have product specific questions, please email our customer service team on customers@roland.co.uk.

Sorry for the delay in replying Noodler, I have been away for a much needed holiday
Firstly, there are no "naff scratches" or anything like that on the '65 Deluxe Reverb or '59 Bassman pedals...and there's nothing like that on the new '63 Fender Reverb pedal either! What made you think there were?
I have an FDR-1 but never used the reverb on it, I used to always use the onboard reverb on my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp.
The FRV-1 has a much more convincing reverb than the FDR-1 to my ears. How good you think it is will be down to you, it's certainly much better than the FDR-1's reverb (although I think the tremolo on that pedal is killer). I like what I've been getting out of it so far, even though I've not had much time with it yet. |
