Hi Everyone,
I have just discovered this forum after getting back into pedals recently. I got myself a 1987 CE-2 after reading about how great they are and I am pretty darn happy with the unit as is. I have a Keeley Compressor and noticed they do a CE-2 mod, anyone here try it? Anyone try the Monte Allums mod also? I am interested in the Keeley Hi Fi mod, don't think I need the rate tweak, sounds gimicky to me. Any input is welcome! By the way my name is Joe and I live in St Louis (...for now).

Hi Joe - welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new myself, new to the forum, guitar, effects, etc. so I can't be of much help to you that way! But...here's a brew ..don't know if you like light or dark...
I hear quite a bit of this Monte Allums, and I used to be on a Strat forum where it was mentioned a lot, too. When you have time, perhaps you could enlighten me?
I've got a line on a CE-2 myself (and a CH-1, CE-3, CE-5) - I'm a bit compulsive, but then - aren't we all?...

Thanks, good to be here. I have been lurking for a while and I like the vibe here, you all seem to be genuinely nice folks who enjoy BOSS pedals and helping each other out. I did a search for "CE 2 and Keeley" before I posted my question and found a post from Jan of last year that was asking the same question and no one ever responded to the guy!

CE-2 mods...
http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=15
you can find at
http://www.erikhansen.net/?page_id=26
just add the brown burr as per keeley
its a cleaner version of the 4558 opamp
replace the three 1uf caps in the tone for metal film(see his pic)
common tone mod trick with old pedals, due to elo-cap's age n leakage
replacing a cap isn't modding, it restoration!
C19 0.068of for speed, 0.022uf or so for the ring mod
C10 .033uf to .01uf to cut our some of bass from the delay signal
the same came be done on the bf/hf-2 in the same locations
but use two 10uf caps in c27/c28 ring mod, Q9 collector for vitrato
this was from various sources on the net
hmmm an octave up vitrato....
ps welcome to the forum
