A value of 10k will set it to 1547 Hz which is more HM2 territory.
with a Q of .69
You'll need to adjust the whole thing if you what to have the same Q (notch width) the gyrators, stock, from input to output are 953hz 2.81Q, 4896hz 2.17Q, 105hz 14.6Q. A typical 1/3 octave bandpass will have a Q of about 4.3 and a 2/3 octave filter Q value could be about 2.4 There is a calculator here: http://www.muzique.com/lab/gyrator.htm
To change the gain would ad another wrinkle r44 and r30 would be the easiest suspects..
It is a VERY interesting concept never the less thanks for bringing it up, cctsim. I just did some of moonwatchers mods and I'll know tonight at rehearsal how that works out.
A great test would be to disable the pre and post distortion gyrators, put an eq pedal before and after the mt-2 and see where you end up then adjust the gyrators accordingly... |

I just got a batch of 4580L chips that I want to put in this pedal. Unfortunately, one of them sounded pretty poor in my DS-1...
The slew rate is on the high side, but the gain bandwidth product is astounding. |

Did your ds-1 have the new NJM3404AL chip in it? Some reports have this sounding a smother than the M5223AL.. I have a beat up silver screw I've been using for the last 12 years. Love it... I push it with a rangemaster clone for solos.
My mt-2 sounds better/different but not good enough to replace any of my other dirt pedals on my board (ds-1, ocd). I may start from scratch.. I didn't mind the stock lower mid wha sound but the upper mids were too much and it didn't have enough low end for what I want it to do on my rig. It will be a bit before I can get back to it. |

This is potentially great news - I want to get a brand new DS-1 so I can evaluate that chip!
I used to really bash the Mitsubishi chips, but the 5223 is pretty good, as a result of my testing. |

Hello Dingus, you are right about the ML-2, it does! You can't go wrong with that. But The Boss ML-2 uses SMD components and has some COSM modeling, which makes it VERY difficult to modify...but I wonder how that would sound |

Hey mojah63, @freestompboxes.org you talked about getting some Mouser 575-113120 parts if you constantly switch out components.
That's a brilliant idea good sir! That's new to me. But how would you cut the Mouser 575-113120?
EDIT: Nevermind, they sent my order with the sockets pre-cut...Don't mind me, as I'm still new to modding pedals. |
