I have a BD-2 that is overdrived/distorted when OFF. Everything looks fine, no heat from any components, and it's starting to drive me batty! Any ideas on where to go? I've replaced the IC, (get the same problem, and the trannys seems to check out ok.. It's gotta be something simple, and I'm overlooking it...
Any help greatly appreciated!!! |

| Boss PSA adapter and/or battery. I checked it with both. I also checked another pedal (CS-3 and GE-7) to see if it was my amp, cables, power supplies... |

| There is a buffer in the bypass path... Q5. If you feed in a sine wave and trace the signal, how does it look either side of Q5? |

I did what you suggested, and it's clean as a whistle. I got a good sine wave on both sides of Q5. When a little further and found clean signals. Would you have a schematic for this guy? I'm going point to point with my scope, and I get lost. I'm about ready to.... this pedal! |

Thank you Laurie, and ssanyee! Both of you guys helped out! The issue was C12, and C13, that was causing the signal to fizzle out when the pedal was off. Q5 was fine.
Don't know why they went out, but hey it's FIXED!
Thanks again!!!
Here's a pint for both! |
