I think it means, that they use an Acoustic, because some acoustics have (dare I say it?) no pickups.
What they probably really mean, is no amplifiers.
maybe they don't want to wake up their sleeping babies.
That works out at about 250 euro as a buy it now......is it really over the top price wise for this unit...?? i don't know much about it except it's a line booster and one of it's most famous users is The Edge from U2..and it's an original made in japan boss....i saw a Ce 1 go for for nearly �300 on ebay u.k the other day......
