Hi guys! I recently acquired an MZ-2. I wonder if someone here knows a mod on how to cut the higs and increase the mids.

Your help will be really appreciated.

No mods that I know of...
The schems can be found and from there you can decide what you want where. If you new to modding, grab a ds1 or a sd1 (mit of course) and learn from there. Lots of resourses on the net too.
Not sure what the clipping is like, but you'd think Boss would of matched up a better sound to combine with delay and chorus

You also try to put a EQ before the MZ2, so the EQ doesn't interfere with the delay/chorus. Let the pedal double it as you taylor the sound.

What would happen if i place the eq after the mz2? I dont't have an eq at the moment. But i know someone who wants to get rid of his PQ4. If i get that, would it do the job?

How would the EQ affect the chorus and delay if i place it after the MZ2?

Oh yea. Get the PQ-4. But A GE-7 or even GEB-7 will do. Put the EQ after the distortion/od and before the chorus and delay. The Boss effects pedals guidebook vol. 19 explains it real well you can find it here;

The MZ2 is a kinda unique in that its a distortion with a doubler or chorus. An EQ can be placed almost anywhere in a chain. After a delay you could cut out some of the treble or noise...
This is another good link for effect order

Just recently pulled my MZ2 out and added a GE7 and a PH1r
and getting some great sounds, sounds better with single coils too

Figured out how to get an overdrive sound to,
Level up at 8, tone below center, and distortion down at 2

Hi Christo

I have an original User manual, for the MZ-2, if you need any info.
Did you down load one from The Boss Support site?

Regards Dr. Bob

Yeah, all the Boss setting are for distortion settings
sounds good with single coils, or with a eq set to single coil simulation
thx kawayan for getting me to rediscover the mz2

Hi kawayan_strat

You can download the PDF from here, plus lots of other manuals.
Just change the pedal name in the link.

Bossarea - We should make this link a sticky topic, it sort of already is, but it's on page 3 of this link.

No - I don't think so, but I'll double check for you.
