One of my pedals produce massive feedback while not hitting the strings. While this is not a main issue, sometimes I just don't want it.
Will a NS-2 (or any noise suppressor) omit feedback? I presume not until set to a very high threshold. |

I suppose you dont mean that the pedal itself creates feedback (self oscillation or something), rather that the gain/volume is so high that the pickups feed back . I dont think NS-2 can do anything about it in a way that you like. What I do in cases like this is to touch the strings, rubbing them slightly with my hand/fingers, that usually makes the pickups feedback less. Another way is to turn down the volume as soon as you stop playing, by the guitars volume pot or a foot volume. A noise gate could possibly be used but I suppose it would abruptly cut of your tones as the setting has to be rather radical.

Yep, I don't mean the noise gate itself but a distortion pedal.
Regarding your noise gate comment: Unfortunately this is what I expected. Anyway, thank you! |

| if its a distortion pedal making the feedback, a NS-2 Noise Supressor will fix it. if you set the threshold correctly, it will cut out all noise and not cut off any of your notes as they sustain. |

Feedback only. The pedal in question is a distortion (EHX Metal Muff). |

| well I wouldn't use a NS-2 to get rid of feedback... try a GE-7 after your distortion (lowering the guilty frequencies) to see how it works... |

Could be an option. But I don't like the consequence of altering the sound. |

the only problem with that is it might change the sound into something you dont want.. |

Not a stompbox but it's less than $100 so it's price comparable .
Thanks! It may be a bit over sized (19" rack) but it could be a solution. Seems to be a bit more expensive in Europe ( >100 Euro). |

| I added an NS-2 to my chain a few years back, and it cut down on noise and feedback a bit. However, the main solution to my feedback issue was to turn my guitars volume down a little bit. There is a huge volume gain with my modded Metal Zone and I think the pickups on my guitar are pretty hot as well, and if I kept my guitars volume at 10, I would get feedback, but once I turned my guitar back to 3-5 on the volume knob, the feedback issues pretty much ended, and I still had the all the same sound and frequencies as before. Maybe try that to see if that helps? |

| When does it feedback? when not playing? Try lowering the guitar volume or turning off the pedal in silence parts of the song.... cheapest solution! |
